Future Insights - Practical Online Courses

Oxford Edu's Future Insights to helps teenagers explore their future before committing to it. Through practical, online immersion courses, students experience what it’s really like to study their subject - empowering them to make confident, informed decisions about their future.

Over one week, students engage with expert-led content, hands-on activities, and collaborative projects that bring each subject to life. Programmes are carefully designed to introduce core concepts, explore emerging technologies, and highlight real-world applications - all while encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and ethical decision-making. From designing sustainable cities and coding AI solutions to analysing global affairs or crafting compelling digital stories, teens gain both the knowledge and confidence to imagine their future.

Who is Future Insights for?

Future Insights is designed for students aged 14–18, including those who are unsure about what they want to study as well as students with a clear academic interest who want deeper exposure to their chosen field. It is ideal for motivated teens who are curious about real-world careers and want to make informed decisions about their future. The programme is open to both South African and international students, and no prior subject knowledge is required - just curiosity and commitment.

A focused, one-week online experience

Each Future Insights programme runs over one week and includes:

  • Live online sessions led by subject specialists

  • Interactive discussions and applied learning

  • Real-world case studies and examples

  • Insight into university-level expectations

  • Exposure to career pathways within each field

Medicine, AI & the Future of Healthcare

Explore the exciting world of modern medicine with a programme designed for teens passionate about health, science, and innovation. Students will learn about human biology, genetics, biotechnology, and AI-driven healthcare tools, while exploring real-world medical challenges. Through interactive sessions and mini-projects, participants gain insight into medical careers, global health trends, and ethical considerations, giving them the knowledge and inspiration to envision their future in medicine.

Law, Technology & Ethics

Understand how law shapes society in the digital age with this two week programme for curious teens. Students explore legal systems, cyber law, data privacy, intellectual property, and the ethical use of AI. Business, Entrepreneurship & the Digital Economy

Teens explore startup culture, digital transformation, marketing, branding, leadership, and the global economy. Through hands-on projects and simulations, they learn to develop business ideas, pitch solutions, and make data-driven decisions. This programme equips students with creativity, leadership, and critical thinking skills, preparing them for careers in business, innovation, and the digital economy.

Economics, Finance & Data-Driven Decision Making

Step into the digital economy and discover how data, markets, and finance shape the world. This programme introduces teens to micro and macroeconomics, personal finance, digital currency, behavioral economics, and ethical investment. Students engage with real-world simulations, data-driven decision-making exercises, and mini-projects that develop analytical thinking, financial literacy, and global awareness. Global Affairs, Politics & the Digital World

Teens explore governance, international law, technology in politics, global challenges, data-driven decision-making, and ethics. Through debates, simulations, and mini-projects, students learn negotiation, critical thinking, and leadership skills while understanding how global trends impact society. Engineering, Innovation & Smart Technologies

This programme introduces teens to mechanical, civil, and electrical systems, robotics, AI, and sustainable engineering practices.
